Inspiration of the artist – Bamboo and Rattan weaving

Bamboo and rattan is one of the quintessential beauty of traditional culture. This is a tradition that has been formed and developed for a long time in Vietnam. Going through many ups and downs of society. To this day, the craft of making bamboo and rattan is still flourishing.
“In the past, when I saw my father knitting, my mother also did it, then when I was about 10 years old, from then on I started practicing knitting. Up to now, I have been with the profession for more than 50 years, knitting has become the main occupation to support my family.”
Bamboo and rattan weaving requires workers to have perseverance, ingenuity and accumulate a lot of experience to make durable and beautiful products. Therefore, there are many people who know how to knit, but living with the profession is not easy.
The artisan painstakingly sharpens and sharpens each thread, every detail of the product is gradually perfected under her nimble and skillful hands. The products she makes are not too fussy with complicated motifs but very solid. Each part on the products is knitted by her quite thickly and firmly, the bamboo slats are hard and neat.
Through many years of ups and downs with the profession, living fully with a passion for knitting, artisans still silently contribute to the preservation of local traditional crafts.
